A stonefish relative that has given up on swimming almost entirely. It sits on coral rubble covered in skin flaps and algae growth, matching whatever it is sitting on, and waits for a fish to come within range of a strike measured in milliseconds.
The dorsal spines carry a venom that causes severe pain. Nothing about the animal is aggressive, but it does not move when approached, which is the whole problem.
