PADI Discover Scuba Diving is a half-day intro experience for non-divers, run under the direct supervision of a PADI instructor. You learn the essential skills in shallow water, then do a real Red Sea reef dive to a maximum of 12 metres. No prior experience, no theory exam, no commitment to a full course. Just one of the most-booked first-time experiences in diving in Hurghada.

What you'll do
Half-day program. Quick safety brief, then mask and breathing skills in confined shallow water (2-3 m). Once you're comfortable, you do a guided reef dive at arm's length from your instructor. Total water time around 90 minutes, total day around 4 hours including hotel pickup.
Prerequisites
- Minimum age 10 (children 10-14 supervised by instructor or parent)
- Basic swimming ability: comfortable in water, can float and tread for 1 minute
- No serious medical conditions (we review a short PADI medical questionnaire on arrival)
- Avoid flying for 18 hours after the dive
01 · Morning
Skills brief in shallow water
We collect you from your hotel, drive to the marina or shore entry, and kit you up. After the safety brief, you practise the four core skills (regulator recovery, mask clearing, equalising, basic buoyancy) standing in 2-3 metres of water with the instructor right next to you. No rush, no pressure.
02 · Late morning
Your first Red Sea reef dive
30-40 minutes on a beginner-friendly Hurghada reef chosen for the day's conditions. Maximum depth 12 metres. Your instructor stays at arm's length the entire dive. Expect butterflyfish, parrotfish, anemones with clownfish, and probably a moray eel tucked into the coral.
