North Abu Ramada is the northern end of the Abu Ramada reef, about an hour south of Hurghada. A plateau at 20 to 35 m runs out to a wall that drops past 100 m, and a chimney cuts through the reef between 24 and 30 m. The soft coral on this side is the healthiest of the three Abu Ramada sites · lilac and purple, and thick with it.

Topography and dive profile
A plateau between 20 and 35 m, dropping away at its outer edge into a wall that falls past 100 m. A chimney runs through the reef with an entry around 24 m and an exit near 30 m, wide enough to swim without touching and short enough to see through.
The north face carries the soft coral this reef is known for, in lilac and purple, fed by the current that runs along it. Glassfish fill the chimney and the overhangs, barracuda and tuna work the blue off the wall, and morays sit in the plateau structure.

Who it suits
PADI Advanced Open Water. The plateau starts at 20 m, the chimney sits at 24 to 30, and the wall has no floor · everything interesting here is below the Open Water limit. The chimney is short and open but it is still an overhead, so a diver who is uneasy about that swims around it and loses nothing else.
When the captain runs this site
About an hour out, usually paired with one of the other Abu Ramada sites on a standard 2-tank day. The captain decides which of the three on the morning, based on where the wind is putting the current.
