The largest moray in the Red Sea, thick as a thigh and patterned in dark leopard blotches toward the head. The constant gaping looks like threat and is not: morays have no gill covers to pump water, so they must open the mouth to breathe.
They hunt at night by smell and spend the day wedged into the reef with only the head showing. Bites happen almost exclusively to people who put a hand into a hole.
