The largest wrasse in the world, and one of the few reef fish big enough to make a diver stop. Adults develop the heavy hump on the forehead and thick rubbery lips, and they can pass two metres and two hundred kilos.

Every Napoleon starts female and some become male later in life. That is exactly what makes them so vulnerable to fishing: take the big fish and you take all the males off the reef at once.
